Kline's King Lear at Public Rescheduled for Spring 2007

Kevin Kline fans will have to wait a few more months for the Public Theater's production of King Lear, which has been pushed back from this fall to spring 2007, a spokesperson confirmed.

As previously reported on Broadway.com, James Lapine will direct Kline in the title role of Shakespeare's tragedy. No specific dates have yet been announced.

Kline is currently playing opposite Meryl Streep in Bertolt Brecht's drama Mother Courage at Central Park's Delacorte Theatre. He boasts a lengthy history of Shakespeare performances at the Public, including Richard III, Much Ado About Nothing, Henry V, and Hamlet twice, as well as a recent star turn as Falstaff in Lincoln Center Theater's Henry IV.
